Tausha Lell
perfumer * collector * designer * crafter
Growing up in a family of fine artists, gourmet cooks, supreme crafters and seamstresses gave Tausha Lell a foundation in the arts. Through her childhood she had a special interest in drawing, writing and cartooning. In her early 20's she changed her focus to the healing arts and found a special comfort in aromatherapy. After taking some courses and studying the culture of aroma she settled into a career as an artisan perfumer. Beginning in 1996 she became co-owner of Euphoria, a gift shop located in Lafayette, LA specializing in locally crafted artwork, jewelry, aromatherapy products and unique vintage collectibles. It was here that she truly began blooming as crafter and artist. With the ability to house a large collection of essential and fragrance oils, she began developing her own signature line entitled "Euphoric Blends". Customizing both therapeutic and fragrance blends for her clientele gave her a comfortable knowledge base regarding her favorite medium, oils. Though she considers herself a perfumer first and foremost, she is also a talented artist. Creating works from recycled materials that are unique and functional. Currently, Tausha is in relocation to Portland, OR where she will open her new re- retail store "ReBelle's" in the spring of 2012. Here she will host Louisiana artists, a complete perfumery bar, local crafts, original furnishings, collectibles and of course artwork with an emphasis on recycling. She looks forward to promoting her line of fragrances in the northwest and joining her southern flare with the great arts and crafts community of Portland.
Pat Marken: Upholstery/ Fabrics
When Pat isn't at her gumbo cart, she's here...working. Her up-cycled upholstery pieces are functional and fabulous! She likes to focus on small chairs and accent pieces such as cushions, pillows and stools. Her work ranges from relaxed, boho shoulder bags to ornamental tufted chairs. With an eye for color and use of textures Pat's creations a delightful indulgence. And by indulgence, I mean her work is really reasonable. Most of her amazing side chairs can be scooped up for less than $100.
Kelsey Jean Couture
Kelsey Jean has a background in fashion design and it shows with her creative use of functional textiles and vintage accessories. Her jewelry line is best described as glamorous boheme, rings of leather, buttons and flowing drapery earrings are stunning and eye catching! Not to mention incredibly affordable price points. I have a ring from her leather collection and get compliments on it all the time!
Deborah Elberson: Designer/Collector
Residing in Lafayette, LA, Deborah has always had a flair for style and design. Her iconic vintage shop, Flip Flop housed many of her own creations as well as a stunning array of vintage couture. Currently she creates amazing works of art through her new company, Birds Nest Designs. Each fanciful, ornate necklace is carefully balanced and whimsical while her line of fabric clutches are both glamorous and down to earth. Her necklaces can be viewed at Rebelle's for a limited time but her gorgeous clutches and sup
ReCreation Studios: Up-cycled Jewelry
I love their stuff, which is why we've carried their jewelry line in both stores. Based out of Louisiana these girls really know how to rework some metal, glass, crystals and stones, the list goes on and on. These elaborate adornments are all completely unique and one of a kind. This line can go from heavy metal rock-n-roll to meditative prayer beads and hit every genre in between.
Angela Fruge' Broussard: Designer/Jeweler
When she's not chasing around her little ones, Angela is working on creating one of kind Catholic adornments. Her use of stones, crystals and metal is both simple and defined. Each piece carries with it a significance, a thoughtfulness that you can actually feel in the necklaces. This Louisiana artist is a treasure.
Earth Angel Designs
Located in Broussard, LA, Hogie Siebert has been crafting fine silver and stone jewelry for most of her life. These extraordinary, raw stone arrangements vary from bold, traditional styles, to the "unbalanced" color scheme of nature. She is a delightful person as well, which is very evident in her art form. Thoughtful, powerful and purposeful are terms I would use to describe her beautiful work.
Renee Staeck: Artist
Renee spent a little time in Algiers (New Orleans) and found her way to the Northwest. Her art is soulful and reminiscent of an old south revival. Architecture, culture, society all makes it's way into her delightful work. Prints are currently available. She is one of our favorite Portland artists and we are proud to have her displayed in our lil' ol' shop.
